Margaret "Molly" Brown is well known and her story has been told many times.  But she is an interesting person and I could not resist posting her picture.  El Polo Real has a great post on her.

I especially liked this one about Major Archibald Butts.  He should have been remembered in the films (I am not sure why he was not).

Update:  

A lot of people do not realize the Titanic is real.  Even more do not grasp the impact our budget deficits will have on our futures.  I would suggest moving to the life boats...
